The Veshels bouldering is a nice new bouldering venue on the coast north of Aberdeen. It is siutated inbetween Collieston and Whinnyford, where there is also the new bouldering venues of Green Craig and Veshels. It is a quite section of the coast, and this bay feels even more isolated. There are not many visitors to this section of the coast which is why these boulders have remained unknown until now. There are over 30 problems in a variety of styles and grades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are a mixture of tidal and non tidal boulders, however access to most of this is tidal. Make sure you don’t arrive at high tide! It’s usually accessible at all but high tide, so around 1 hour either side of high tide and you should be fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sea Cave Area landings took a lot of work! Around about 4 visits moving rocks larger than I thought possible with 2 people. But it was lockdown, time was abundant, and being somewhere as secluded as this was a bonus! If you look carefully at the guide for the sea cave area, you can see a before and after of one very large boulder disappearing! The small boulders do shift in big winter storms, but hopefully nothing too large ever rolls back into the cave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
