What Does Guided Scrambling Involve?

Scrambling combines hillwalking and rock climbing.  It involves moving along and through steep terrain where your hands will be needed for balance and to aid progress. It can range from hill walks with one or two tricky steps to long continuous sections of easy rock climbing.

Your instructor Liam will lead you on any scrambless you are interested in whilst allowing you to relax and enjoy the scrambling. Liam will likely be using a rope to keep you safe for some or all of the scramble. There will be opportunities to learn along the way and improve your skill set and confidence. 

Who is it for?

For Hillwalkers and Climbers of any experience level. If you have never scrambled before and would like to give it a go and have an adventure. Through to scramblers with years of experience who have a route in mind and are looking for somebody to lead it and keep them safe. For guided scrambling, we keep the ratios low, 1:2, so we can take you on an adventure and keep you safe.

Under 18’s are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent on the scramble.

Where is it?

Our base is Aberdeen with good access to Cairngorms national park for scrambles. However we offer guided scrambling across Scotland from Glencoe, Ben Nevis to the Cairngorms. If you have a route in mind, or are looking for ideas of what may be possible, get in touch!

What kit do I need?

• Warm clothes with spare layers to keep warm
• Waterproofs
• Sturdy shoes or boots. Such as approach shoes
• Lunch, snacks and water
• A rucksack to carry it all in and some of the climbing kit

All  equipment is provided including helmets, harnesses and ropes – You are welcome to use your own.
